Anderson Silva vs Floyd Mayweather in a UFC fight, who would win and how?

Anderson Silva has record of 20-4 loses, so we know he can be beaten. Floyd Mayweather has a 39-0 loses. He has an advantage over Silva with his record and his hands are too fast for Silva to detect where they are going to hit.

Well he out weighs him by 20 pounds knows how to throw kicks and knees. Anderson also has decent Ju-Jitsu.

So the real question is What way does Silva want to win?

    Uhm. Are you retarded?

First off… Silva is much taller and heavier. Secondly, his losses came from submissions and decisions. I haven’t seen his first fight against Azeredo, but he hadn’t really been outstruck in any others. (Okay, fine, maybe vs Chonan but still.) Now, as for Mayweather, you have to realize that boxing records are padded. You can’t compare that to an MMA record.

If (and by that I mean when) he lands a leg kick, Floyd will drop. Or, if nothing else, he’ll lose a large portion of his mobility. Many leg kicks will land.

Floyd’s defense against hands is top-notch. However, his techniques wouldn’t work half as well against somebody like Anderson Silva, who fluidly strings together combinations of kicks, punches, knees, and elbows from varying angles and heights. The second that Mayweather slips a punch, he’ll get his thighs hammered by a roundkick. If he tries to bob and weave, he’ll get a shin or knee to the face (similar to Big Nog vs Herring 3)

If he stays in the pocket, Floyd will get tied up in the thai clinch and pulverized.

Floyd is a better boxer, but Anderson Silva is undeniably a better overall striker (as Floyd doesn’t have any kicks, elbows, or knees. All the while, Silva merges them all together with deadly accuracy)

Let’s not forget that Anderson Silva is a blackbelt in BJJ, and should he decide to take the fight to the ground (or when Floyd gets knocked down), he’s absolutely effed.

Long story short, even if Anderson Silva wasn’t 60 to 90 pounds heavier (Silva cuts from around 113), he’d put a horrible beating on Mayweather in an MMA fight. With said weight advantage, this fight could result in the second death in MMA, if Steve Mazzagatti is the ref (considering how he delays a stoppage for an athlete from another discipline, like Lesnar vs Mir).

mayweather will eat some knees from anderson silva.

Let’s see Mayweather try to lean against the cage and avoid shots. Once Anderson grabs ahold of him, his face gets caved in by knees. Mayweather’s not enough of a FIGHTER to go with Anderson. Leaning against the ropes and avoiding all contact isn’t enough to win in MMA son.

Silva would put Mayweather in a Muay Thai clinch and put the knees to him. It befuddles me with these comparisons. Could Shaq beat Barry Bonds type, point being these are different sports dog.

are you serious this isnt a boxing match its MMA he has no jui jitsu, kickboxing, or submission defense you genius.
da Spider would kill him by tko inside of 1 round, or he might not want to risk getting hit so he might just take him down and submit him like a chump, since Mayweather has zero ground
    game.

Silva would destroy Mayweather very quickly. If he starts to bob and weave. Sliva will just grab his head in that muay thai clinch, that my friend is the beginning of the end for Mayweather. Forrest Griffin was brutalized with this methhod by Silva.

Get real already. Eventhough PBF is a great boxer I give him very litttle chance to win this fight. MMA tries to incorporate every usable fighting technique known to man into their sport, where as boxers box. Next time you go to the sporting goods store compare the gloves the UFC guys fight with and then compare them to 12 oz. boxing gloves, you should be able to tell that these sports are very different.

mayweather wouldnt win a fight against a mid level mixed martial artist his own size let alone anderson silva, silva is ALOT bigger than floyd, even if silva kept the fight standing he would win easily, just kick floyd till he got close enough then clinch him and knee him into oblivion, i would say that ANY fighter of ufc caliber would easily beat floyd in an mma fight, probably wouldnt even go past the first round, Pretty boy floyd is the best pfp boxer in the world so its not a knock on him, but its a different sport, its like asking if micheal jordan is better at hockey than wayne gretzky.

There are three reasons why Silva would win 1) he is the bigger and stronger man and can overwhelm Floyd; 2) unlike boxing there are kicks knees and elbows all strikes boxers don’t know how to defend; 3) there is the allowance of grappling another thing boxers are not use to so once Silva gets in close and grabs Floyd the ref wouldn’t break them up, so Floyd’s biggest strength his speed is gone.

in the end easy win for Silva

nobody noticed that that “clarence” said forrest griffin got this done to him by silva?….that was rich franklin my friend….silva by standing elbow like he did to fryklund…

Silva of course since he fights at 185 and the heaviest Mayweather has ever fought is 154. Floyd Mayweather vs Joe Stevenson, BJ Penn, or Sean Sherk would be a better question. We don’t know the outcome because we have never seen how well Mayweather’s style would carry over to MMA. I think he could jab his way to a decision with none of them being able to catch him.

FIrst of all, MMA records and Boxing records are a lot different so you can’t compare the two. Second, Silva would win 9 times out of 10. Mayweather isn’t prepared for knees, kicks, jiu jitsu, wrestling, and anything else besides punching.

I believe Mayweather will get handled by not only Anderson Silva but fighters from Lightweight classes as well… Floyd Mayweather is a great boxer but that is jus one aspect of MMA… If you wanna survive a MMA fight, you have to b great at more than 2-3 aspects of martial art (aka well rounded). Mayweather can only rely on standing technique and he has no ground game whatsoever which gives in a great disadvantage against any MMA fighters
