whos the better fighter anderson silva or fedor emelianenko?

PERSONALLY, i believe these 2 fighters are way ahead of the competiton but fighting wise id say anderson silva is better, hes just such a gifted striker that its incredible how he moves around the ring. fedor on the other hand is just a pure russian monster, hes strikes never stop coming and for his size hes an incredible combination of speed and power. well let me hear your thoughts!

I agree with you, exactly. Anderson’s the better fighter, but sometimes size is hard to take down. Couture’s a better fighter than Brock, he just couldn’t handle the size.

I disagree , I think Fedor is the better overall fighter. Anderson may be the better striker , but Fedor is more durable , has fought bigger and tougher opposition, and came out successful. Anderson is very well rounded but his wrestling is week , and he can be controlled on the ground by a good strong wrestler, Fedor has no weaknesses , he is very good with submissions , and his wrestling is world class , and like you mentioned his striking has devastating power. If the two ever fought , Fedor would win just by being a tough durable russian cyborg.

im going to have to go with fedor because he has beaten Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira 3 times and anderson silva couldnt stand a chjance against him

Silva’s the more talented striker, but Fedor has an uncanny ability to take people down and submit them more or less at will (unless your Nog, but no one’s ever finished Nog)

When it comes to the whole “who’s the best p4p fighter” I always pretty much get stuck between Fedor, Silva, and GSP…

Probably the biggest reason I say Fedor is the best is because he’s never been stopped, and Silva has been stopped before.. twice I believe.

Look at it this way, if Fedor had randomly been caught with a flying scissor heel hook and had that smudge on his record, would people be defending his as the best p4p fighter as much?

Tough question. Silva is an awesome striker as is Fedor. I’d give Fedor an advantage submission wise. Fedor is getting older though.

There is no way to tell in this case….both are at the top of their game and handle any competitor with ease….its a 50/50 really

Jinglehimer, Anderson Silva is 33 and Fedor is 31… I’d take Anderson Silva in a fight between them… It’s about time Fedor loses….

jingleheimer, Fedor is younger than Silva..

Honestly, I agree with them being heads about the rest of the competetion.

I would have to go with Fedor being the better fighter, because he is better overall.

While I admit that Silva is an absolutely amazing stand up fighter, but keep in mind he has been submitted, twice. Takase and Chonan have both submitted him.

    Fedor hasn’t.

Also Silva has been shown weak in certain areas and had lack luster fights, Fedor not so much.

Fedor has also been tested by a higher caliber of fighters.

I think all over Fedor is a better fighter, while his stand up is not as crisp as Silva’s, it’s unorthodox nature and his solid gameplans have allowed him to stand up with some of the best strikers in the game, and still win.

I think Anderson Silva is amazing, but he is just now getting recognition and showing signs of it crumbling him. (talk of retirement, lackluster effort against Cote).

Fedor has had the recognition for a while and still remains strong. I think mentally, and over all skill set wise Fedor is the better fighter.

Fedor, the guy is essentially undeafted. Until he loses he is number 1.
Ask yourself this, would Fedor have let a fighter like Patrick Cote hang around for 3 rounds? No.
    Fedor outstuck Mirko Cro Cop
    Fedor outgrappled Minotauro
Fedor stopped the takedowns of Mark Coleman
Fedor is overall much better rounded

andersons only real loss happened long long ago.his other loss was when he knocked out okami with an upkick and was discualified.which proves that even if fedor did take him down, andersons incredibly dangerous off his back.hes also got amazing jj and his long lean legs are very hard to control even when you got a monster like fedor on top.they both have beautiful submissions.theyre both dangerous on the ground, top or bottom. standing up though, anderson silva is a god.fedor beat guys like nogueira, but nogueira in my eyes isnt the most solid fighter.even crocop was beating his ass until nogueira surprised him with a great submission.nogueiras game isnt as well rounded.silvas beat guys like henderson and franklin barely breaking a sweat.hes the most unpredictable fighter alive.ive even seen him use a capoeira move in a cage rage fight.i go for silva.

Fedor’s fought better opponents, beats them where they’re strongest, has a more well-rounded skill set, and hasn’t lost a round in years. While Anderson is an amazing striker and very good on the ground, he’s been mounted by Travis Lutter and pretty much did nothing to Henderson in the first round of their fight. He also lacks takedown abilities and hasn’t fought the quality of opposition that Fedor has. So while I think Silva’s a great fighter and the unquestioned top MW in the world, Fedor’s simply the better overall fighter.
